Class Etiquette
-
Please arrive at least 10 minutes early. This allows time to find a space, set your mat down and collect your props without disturbing anyone. It also gives you an opportunity to get into the right mind-set. If you are late, please wait in the entrance room until after the teacher’s opening ritual — it could be a breathing exercise, a meditation, or opening chant— before entering.
-
Please bring your own yoga mat. We do not supply yoga mats.
-
Please remove your shoes in the hallway before entering the entrance room.
-
Please leave your belongings, especially your cellphone (on silent), in the small entrance room, to avoid clutter in the shala.
-
Please be mindful of others when entering the shala, keeping voices down and on-going conversations outside of the room as others might be settling into their practice. Please use the hallway or entrance area to socialize with one another before/after classes.
-
Let the teacher know of any physical conditions to address : (i.e. if you are menstruating, experiencing a migraine; any medical condition such as high blood pressure, glaucoma, heart conditions, etc.)
-
Please advise the teacher if you need to leave early.
-
Be respectful towards the teacher, fellow students, and yourself.
